Patient Transport Volunteer Driver (Petersfield, Hampshire)
We are currently recruiting in Petersfield, Hampshire
Our Patient Transport Volunteer Driver’s support our Patient Transport Service. The volunteer’s focus is on ensuring patients in their community are able to access local hospitals to attend medical appointments by providing a friendly, safe and reliable service. By joining our volunteer team, you are helping patients at an essential moment in their treatment, providing them with a reassuring arm and assisting them in a time of need.
Do you believe you have the time and dedication to join our group of Patient Transport Volunteers? Our volunteers come from many different backgrounds, but all have a common bond in wanting to give something back to their communities. No previous experience is required just a friendly caring attitude, use of your own five door car and spare time. In doing so you can give patients peace of mind, while they face challenging periods in their lives, that they will arrive to appointments or treatment with a friendly face.
Our Hampshire patients attend treatment for renal dialysis on Saturdays and require transport to and from their appointments. This is a great opportunity to familiarise yourself with the service and provide a moment of your time. We are looking for volunteers to volunteer from 6am, but we offer flexible volunteering, so you can offer as little or as much as you like, whilst fitting in with other commitments. This role will keep you fit and active and many of our Volunteers say they are ‘proud to give back and support the NHS’.
Brenda, a renal dialysis patient said "Come rain or shine, I know I can depend on my regular Patient Transport Volunteer, it's nice to see a friendly and familiar face, when having to go in and out of the hospital for treatment". Another patient, Daniel who attends daily appointments for chemotherapy informed us "Knowing that I have a volunteer driver that does the majority of my journeys for treatment, gives me peace of mind. the volunteers are supportive and understanding. I'm extremely grateful".
